And congrats to Kyrogu for the LS’s second Perseus’s Harpe!
That’s all for this update! Congrats to everyone who obtained these drops and much luck to those trying for them in the future! Emo, signing off! Pleasant adventures to you all!
Howdy folks! Emo here for another update out of Soulfire Salvage! Last night was quite exciting, as we were able to gather two teams to farm Salvage! Team Chicyrooni, lead by Chic, was to hit up Bhaflau Remnants and try to farm some level 35’s from the ramparts found within. And though I was not on that run, sources from the front have informed your reporter that it went very well, hurrah! While Team Chicyrooni was plowing through Bhaflau Remnants, a secondary team, Team Why Hasn’t Jarvis Died for TH+100, was to go on an extremely time-sensitive run to reach the 4th floor Poroggo Madame in Zhayolm Remnants! Your reporter was along for this run… which turned out to me more than she was expecting.
Now the 4th floor Poroggo Madame is a very tricky frog to please. Apparently she is on a very tight schedule and the only way to be graced with her presence is to reach the 4th floor of Zhayolm Remnants in 25-30 minutes. That’s right folks, four floors in 30 minutes and it was as tricky as it sounds. As we gathered together, our leader informed us of the plan he had in mind. We would only spend 15 minutes on the first floor, collecting the bare minimum of cells that was needed. The second floor we would have even less time, only 8 minutes to kill as many monsters as we could. But the third floor was by far the worst; only 3-5 minutes would be allowed on that floor (which was only enough time for the runners to port us to the 4th floor). By the time we reached the 4th floor most of us would be naked and confused, but the Madame would be there (ready to devour any Tarutaru that had the misfortune of crossing her path).

As your reporter stood listening to the orders that were being given out, an eerie silence soon descended upon her. There was no talking, no laughing, no “omg frogs are gonna eat me,†just silence. Trying to figure out what was going on, I soon discovered the culprit of the silence… a familiar r0 flashed on my screen, with a disconnect soon following it. After a bit of cursing and relief that this happened before the run started, I logged back on and we began our trek into Zhayolm Remnants.
The first floor went very well, as we destroyed every mob in our path. The punches and kicks flew through the air, connecting with their targets and taking them down as fast as possible. The time remaining on the clock was a very promising sign, we were killing these monsters faster than we expected! However, the air of excitement was soon to be diminished. While wailing on a not-so-friendly Ziz, the flurry of punches and kicks suddenly stopped. What was going on!?! Why we were stopping!?! Did something just insta-kill our entire team?!? While I was trying to figure out what was going on the familiar r0 graced me with its presence again!
This was no good! Disconnecting on any other run would have been tolerable, but on a run where time was of the essence, that was no good at all! Luckily, your reporter was able to reconnect before the 15 minute mark and we ported up to the 2nd floor. The lizards that prowled this floor weren’t prowling for much longer once we arrived. After destroying all the lizards on this floor, we ported up the the 3rd floor, plenty of time left on the clock to try and get some more cells from the Mamool Ja there.

With the 24 minute mark approaching, we were ready to port up to the 4th floor and face the Madame! But as we were preparing to do so… I disconnected again! Again!! And at the worst possible time too! Never having someone disconnect on one floor after the group had ported up to the next, we had no idea what would happen! Would I come back only to find myself booted out of the zone? Would I come back and be able to take the porter up? What was going to happen to your very angry reporter once she connected again!?!
You’ll have to find out in the next addition of Soulfire Salvage!

Okay, not really! As your reporter reconnected to the servers, she found herself ported up to the next floor with the rest of Team Why Hasn’t Jarvis Died for TH+100, only to disconnect 2 minutes later! Needless to say, someone was not very happy! Finally I was able to get a decent connection and logged back on to find my dead body strewn on the floor of Zhayolm.
A few minutes later we were finally ready to pull the Madame, but this would turn out to be an adventure of its own! You see, the Madame is a very popular lady and was surrounded by a harem of 10+ Poroggo Gents (all of whom tried their hardest to kill as many adventurers as they could to please the lady)! Our first thought was to send a Thief in, having them flee through the horde to distract the Gents while a Monk grabbed the Madame. This ended pretty gruesomely though, as 10+ large nukes sent Kyrogu face first to the floor. With Plan A dead on the floor, we went with Plan B; a Thief would throw on flee and grab one of the Gents near the Madame to gain her attention. This Thief would then run one way with the Gents as a Monk grabbed the Madame and ran her back to the rest of the team.
Waiting for the perfect moment I was ready to enact the plan, but as I tried to range attack the Gent I realized something… I had never gotten a ranged attack cell to unlock that slot! In a moment of desperation, I ran in and out of the horde (hoping to grab the Madame’s attention), but with a Bind and Firaga 3, I was soon laying face first on the floor as well. With Plan B down, we went to Plan C (which was a very good plan that involved killing Jarvis!); Jarvis would cast a spell on the Madame and run to one end of the room with the Gents while a Monk grabbed the Madame and take her to the rest of the team. This plan actually worked! Himay was leading the Madame to the slaughterhouse while Jarvis was distracting the Gents… however Poroggo’s don’t track! So we lost hate on her about half way to the slaughterhouse and she soon rejoined her cohorts and a dead Kyrogu.
However, since this plan was a success we were going to try it again! While in the process of doing so, everything became deathly quiet. Soon realizing what was going on (and resisting throwing my modem out the window) I desperately tried to reconnect once again! While I was doing so, I was overcome with relief to hear that the Madame was successful pulled and everyone was waiting for me to reconnect before sending her to an early grave. Once I was back, Avhienda make quick work of the Madame with nuke after nuke. Needless to say, Madame Poroggo soon croaked and we were granted with this in our treasure pool.

And as you can tell, everyone was quite pleased with the results.

After regaining our composure, Jarvis decided to see if we could reach the 6th floor Rampart that spawns Manticores to test some theories about them. On the way to the 6th floor we were granted with a spectacular sight… an epic train!

Good job Kyro! Epic trains are made of win and epic… and excitement! We made it to the Manticore Rampart, but with only enough time to punch it some… and for me to disconnect for the 6th time that night… Overall though, the run was a total success!
Congratulations to those who obtained drops this run, and thanks to everyone who came to both Salvage runs! We hope to see you again in the future! Emo, signing off! Pleasant adventures to you all!
Congratulations to Shadokaryuudo’s Nzyul Isle Team for trouncing a Floor 20 Fanfnir!
A triumphant team of Wyrm Thrashers came away with a shiny new pair of Askar Gambieras!
Congratulations to Mohit on obtaining Askar Gambieras and to the whole team for the win!

Howdy folks! Emo here with a rather late report coming from Soulfire Salvage, but there is a good reason for it. As a request to the folks of Soulfire Salvage, we were asked to respect the wishes of the Chariot Family and allow them a time of mourning for one of their relatives… because we totally kicked Armored Chariot’s ass last night!

That’s right folks, we have official killed our first Salvage boss! Yay!!! *does a dance* Here’s a random picture of the ass-kicking to look at while your reporter regains her composure.

Now that I’ve gotten that out of my system, I can give you all the juicy details! The run started off like any other run, the new addition of the cell chest at the beginning helped us a lot! Not only did it give our Monk-tanks some of the cells they would need for the boss but it also granted us a magic cell so a certain Red Mage could pretend to keep people alive until we acquired a couple more magic cells.
Plowing through most of the mobs on the first floor, we got as many cells as we thought we’d need and then started the climb to the top of the dungeon. Eventually we found ourselves on the sixth floor and began to demolish everything that was there. There weren’t too many mishaps as we killed off all the gears and ramparts that were present, beyond a certain Tarutaru Black Mage finding herself a little too close to a triple-gear as it was using Rail Canon. Needless to say, she died before she could even cast a single nuke on said gear.
As soon as all the mobs on the sixth floor were cleared, we headed up to the seventh (and final) floor to take on the boss! Since this was our first attempt to fight this boss we decided to play it safe, only sending in our Monk-tanks to do initial damage and give it TP.

However, this technique paid off and, though the fighting was very much slow and steady, we were able to kill the boss and obtain two level 25 pieces for our members! Congratulations to Edwin and Raelz for obtaining these pieces, putting them both at 2/3 on these peices!

Congratulations once again to those who were rewarded with drops and a big thanks to everyone who made it possible, especially our fearless leader Jarvis! All your time and effort are startin’ to pay off buddy! Expect more kills to come in the future, the next stop being LBC: The Rematch! And now I’ll leave you with this thought provoking comment about Salvage.
